Mazzone Hospitality and Classé Catering merge
Mazzone Hospitality and
Classé Catering have announced a merger that creates the largest Capital Region
catering entity. The merged company, which retains the name Mazzone
Hospitality, includes 800 full- and part-time employees, and is expected to generate
more than $33 million in total annual revenue.
Two companies with
distinct specializations are combining here. Mazzone Hospitality, through its
Mansion Catering division, offers catering services to often prestigious venues
throughout the Capital Region. Classé Catering is the area’s largest offsite
caterer and will become a division under Mazzone Hospitality.
Matt Mazzone, chief financial
officer of Mazzone Hospitality, will keep that position in the family business.
Brian Palazzolo, president of Classé Catering, will take on a consulting role
regarding guest services.
“It will take some time
to bring the synergies to the same side of the table,” Mazzone said. “We’re going to focus on growing our express
catering business.”
Classé Catering’s
production facility at 2 Petra Lane, Colonie, will be
the new catering headquarters for the merged company.
Mazzone Hospitality currently
owns and operates several of the Capital Region’s premier restaurants and
banquet halls including: Glen Sanders Mansion in Scotia featuring Angelo’s
Tavolo, two ballrooms and an inn; Aperitivo Bistro, a dynamic wine bar and
bistro adjacent to Proctors in Schenectady; Angelo’s Prime Bar & Grill, a
casual, modern bar and grill in Clifton Park; and Angelo’s 677 Prime, an
upscale steakhouse and wine bar in the heart of the theater district in Albany.
Mazzone Hospitality also owns and operates Prime at Saratoga National, an
upscale steakhouse modeled after Angelo’s 677 Prime, located on the grounds of
Saratoga National Golf Club. Through its Prime Business Dining division, the
company oversees corporate dining operations for M+W Group at the Foundry; GlobalFoundries;
Prime @ 107; Ayco Café; Golub Headquarters; and the SI Group. The company also
oversees catering operations at the Hall of Springs and Key Hall at Proctors, as
well as catering private weddings, fundraisers, and corporate and social
events.
