The first drive-in in the Albany market to host celebratory event at 9:30 a.m.

LATHAM>> After much anticipation, Latham’s first SONIC® Drive-In will be hosting a Grand Opening Celebration and ribbon cutting event on Monday, July 6 at 9:30 a.m. Local dignitaries – including Supervisor Paula Mahan, County Executive Dan McCoy, Assemblyman Phil Steck, and Senator Neil Breslin – are invited to commemorate the Albany market’s first SONIC Drive-In. In addition, representatives from supporting organizations – including the Epilepsy Foundation of Northeastern New York, Schoharie A.R.C., Colonie DARE, members of the Albany all-star roller derby and Valley Cats mascot Southpaw – will be in attendance to participate in the celebration. Attending guests can look forward to great food and drinks, SONIC mascots, skating Carhops and more.

The Latham SONIC is conveniently located at 701 Troy Schenectady Road, Latham, N.Y. 12110, and will be open from6:30 a.m. to midnight every day of the week.

“We’ve been looking forward to this opening for months, and are so happy to be bringing the SONIC experience to our Latham neighbors,” said local operator Kurt Doolittle. “Our crew is ready to serve SONIC favorites – like Breakfast Toaster Sandwiches, Real Ice Cream Shakes, and the always popular Tots – to guests interested in something new.”

       

This first Albany drive-in is just one of the eight anticipated SONIC’s to be developed in this market by the local SONIC franchise group over the next seven years in the New York Capital District, including Albany, Latham, Schenectady, Troy, Saratoga Springs, Clifton Park, Amsterdam and the surrounding areas.
