Troy Pig Out

Now in its 8th year, the annual Troy Pig Out challenges BBQ masters from across the Northeast to duke it out for the top prize in the categories of: Best Pulled Pork, Best BBQ Chicken, Best Pork Rib, Best Beef Brisket, Grand Champion, Dinosaur Bar-B-Que People's Choice Pork Rib contest, Mayor's Choice, and more. The Pig Out will also feature great music all day, as well as Fireworks starting at 9:00! Come "pig out" and enjoy some of the best bbq around.
Fitness in the Park

Come down to Riverfront Park Sundaymornings for free fitness along Troy's beautiful waterfront. The classes change between Suples training with Joe and Ashley Uccellini from Underground Fitness, to relaxing yoga with Heartspace Yoga. Check out local artisan vendors at the Troy Makers Market, along side of the Troy Farmer's Market. These local craft vendors vary from week to week, and offer wonderful handmade goods.

Troy Grooming Co.
205 River Street
James Magur, a local entrepreneur opened Troy Grooming Co. Monday, June 22. The new barber shop is located at 205 River Street adding yet a new service to the downtown area. The philosophy of owner, James Magur is to keep the old school barbershop feel alive, while keeping up with the fast pace of today's man. The shop's grand opening was very special, with former State Senate Majority Leader Joe Bruno being the first client at the shop. Elda Abate, a local businesswoman who grew up in Troy, has decided to share her skills with others. Abate decided to open Star Bartende rs Institute to teach others a skill she has had for many years, bartending. Abate knows how universal this skill can be, as she has traveled the country working in numerous states. As well as the Bartenders Institute, Elda Abate also opened Bar Troy across the street. Sunday Funday on the Deck
The last Sunday of the month enjoy food and drink specials at Brown's. Come hang out on the deck overlooking the Hudson River, and enjoy food and live music. Sunday the 26, the Stray Dogs will be performing. Make the best of a lazy Sunday and enjoy some live music and food!

ADCO Welcom & Shake-Up Event

This is the first collaborative event in a series called "Shake-up" at the Takk House. There will be specialty cocktails, catering by Sweet Sues, another great local business, and music provided by Soulia & the Sultans. Come join Buffy Owens, founder and Feldenkrais Practitioner, as she takes you through a series of gentle movement sequences that create immediate improvements in you're personal awareness, posture, balance and flexibility. Each class is 30 minutes followed by an optional Tea & Talk time for sharing your experience and asking questions or simple getting to know the grow community. Local historian and author Don Rinnter and European theater director Justyna Kostek have joined together to present the first Troy showing of this play. The play is by George F.
