Hundreds of brands of cold beer
Minogue’s
Beverage Center will open its fourth location Friday, offering new coolers to
display more micro and import brands of beer.
The 21,300-square-foot
building is located at 2421 Route 9 in Malta, near Stonebreak Road. The Minogue
family invested $3 million in the venture, expanding from their stores in Saratoga
Springs, Wilton, and Queensbury. Most important to the Malta center was installing
the latest coolers and display cases, according to company president Jack Minogue.
“Our newest
cooler is 1,300 square feet,” he said. “It’s the largest available. We will
have 27 glass display cases filled with beer and other beverages.”
The store, which
takes up 12,400 square feet, will also have a 500-square-foot keg cooler, and
eight taps drawing microbrewed and imported beer to fill 64-ounce growlers, or
jugs.
The Minogue
family business, which includes brothers Jack and Robert, and Jack’s son,
Michael, are pleased to have the GlobalFoundries chip fab as a neighbor.
“We’re excited
to move into Malta, a great, growing community,” Minogue said. “The timing is
right for us to expand here.”
Besides the
beverage store, Minogue’s Shops @ Stonebreak also offer 10,000 square feet of
leasable space. No tenants have signed on yet, although Minogue said he has had
interested tire-kickers.
