Fudge owner featured in Where Women Cook magazine

WILTON — Katie Camarro, owner of the Wilton-based hot fudge company Sundaes Best, is featured in a ten-page spread in this month’s issue of Where Women Cook magazine. Camarro was approached by Where Women Cook after an anonymous customer tasted her product and recommended the magazine contact Camarro to tell the story of Sundaes Best fudge.

“I’m not a chef — I’m just a chocolatier with a great recipe so I’m really excited to be included in a cooking magazine like this,” Camarro said about the article.

Camarro founded Sundaes Best ten years ago in Wilton using local ingredients and a top-secret 50-year old family recipe.

“It’s kind of like Coca-Cola — If I told you the recipe, I’d have to kill you,” Camarro said with a laugh.

Sundaes Best began ten years ago in Wilton when Camarro started spreading her passion and sending jars of fudge to friends as holiday gifts. 

“I sold out of my first batch and saw how much people liked it, the business just kind of happened from there,” Camarro said of the company’s humble beginnings. 

Over the past ten years, Camarro has grown Sundaes Best to include seven flavors of hot fudge that are sold in over 450 retail shops and outlets across the country and in the United Kingdom. 

 “It’s a nice way to share a great product,” Camarro added. “I’m a chocolate lover and we’ve had a great time doing it. I think it’s important to carry on the family business and important to spread to love of chocolate to other chocolate lovers.”
