Siena honors entrepreneurs

Nominations are now being accepted for new Entrepreneur
Wall of Success and 2nd annual Entrepreneur of the Year Award

Loudonville, NY – Reflecting an expanding portfolio of entrepreneurial programs and services that are providing unique opportunities for students and fueling private-sector investment and growth, the Stack Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship at Siena College (Stack Center) today announced plans to celebrate the achievements of its homegrown entrepreneurs.

Nominations are now being accepted for the Stack Center’s second annual Entrepreneur of the Year Award, which will be presented at a ceremony on Tuesday, March 31 in the Sarazen Student Union. The award recognizes a Siena graduate who has excelled as an entrepreneur, positively impacted his or her community, and is driven by the entrepreneurial spirit and values of Siena College.

In conjunction with the ceremony, the Stack Center also plans to unveil its new Entrepreneur Wall of Success. To be located both inside and outside the Stack Center, as well as online, the wall will provide a highly visible vehicle to highlight Siena graduates who have successfully launched their own businesses.

“We are proud to say that within nearly every industry is a successful company launched by a graduate of Siena College,” said Michael J. Hickey ’83, Executive Director of the Stack Center and Executive-in-Residence at Siena. “As we unveil our Entrepreneur Wall of Success and honor our newest Entrepreneur of the Year, we seek to not only celebrate the significant achievements of our alumni, but also to inspire the next generation of business owners and community leaders.”

Nomination forms for the Entrepreneur of the Year Award can be found at www.siena.edu/entrepreneur, and for the Entrepreneur Wall of Success at www.siena.edu/successwall.

Last year, the Stack Center presented its first Entrepreneur of the Year Award to Antonio Civitella ’91, President and CEO of Transfinder of Schenectady. A national leader in student transportation management systems and services, Transfinder has been named to the Inc. 5000 for eight consecutive years (2007-2014) as one of the fastest-growing private companies in the United States.
