Albany (Guilderland), New York: Regional fashion leader and stylist Eliza DeRocker will be opening her latest boutique 'Bride & Gown Sample Shoppe' at 1789 Western Avenue in Guilderland on FEBRUARY 13 with a 'Galentines Day' celebration.
'Galentine's Day' was the 16th episode of Season 2 on comedy television series Parks and Recreation. The original air date was on NBC on February 11, 2010. The term is starting to take hold as a pre-holiday outing for girlfriends across the country as they celebrate friendship with the besties in their lives.
"This really is the 'most wonderful time of the year' for the bridal industry. We call this time 'ring season' because most engagements take place from November through February 14th / Valentine's Day..." says Katie O'Malley Maloney : Owner / Event Planner : Katie O' Weddings and Events. "It is so fitting that Eliza will host her grand opening on February 13th which some also know as 'Galentine's Day!' What a perfect way to celebrate this day of friendship and love by grabbing your best girlfriends or bridesmaids and stopping in to try on and see all the amazing dresses she has available for your big day!"
Eliza's third shoppe opening in less than two years will be focused on sample bridal and prom gowns at deep discounts. The boutique will accept designer consignment gowns in a synergistic relationship with the Glens Falls location. Featured designers include top brands like Allure, Maggie Sottero, Jim Hjelm and Justin Alexander.
"The gowns will be hard to find gowns at discount prices that normally one would need to go to Manhattan to find..." says Eliza. "Now they will be able to find those amazing brands right here without the expense and inconvenience of traveling to NYC."
In 2013, Eliza opened her first boutique in Glens Falls, New York called the Bride and Gown. A similar format, this store also focuses Bridal Gowns and Wedding Wear for women and includes hard to find and unusual designer pieces that are new or once worn, sizes 0 to 26.
The event to follow will feature live models showcasing Bride and Gown dresses coupled with the work of hair stylist & make up artist Theresa Higgins, owner of Avant'e Garde Love Salon, located in the Clock Tower Amsterdam, NY. Entertainment by regional music sensation, DJ Trumastr, a founding member of 'Beatshot Music,' will kick the event into party mode. A sparkling toast and light hors d'oeuvre's will be served. Special discounts and giveaways will apply for the opening night including a BRIDAL GOWN GIVEAWAY valued at up to $800! Attendees are encouraged to dress fashion forward. Event is open and free to the public.
Regular store hours will be:
Monday, Wednesday to Friday 1:00-7:00 | Saturdays 10:00-5:00 | Sundays 12:00-5:00 | Closed Tuesdays
