Chamber supports Ballston Spa Walmart
The Chamber of Southern Saratoga County and Walmart Stores, Inc. have agreed to sponsor a community kiosk in the proposed new Walmart store in Ballston Spa.
This kiosk will include notices about nearby downtown Ballston Spa historic sites and attractions, as well as information about local restaurants, farms and shops that offer products and services of all kinds," according to Peter Bardunias, President and CEO of the Chamber of Southern Saratoga County. "Broader tourism locations in the county can also be showcased. "It is my strong belief that the longer people spend in our community the more they visit our local shops, restaurants and attractions," said Bardunias. "I am excited to see Walmart's new innovation of placing a kiosk at their future store in Ballston, which will help draw attention to the great offerings we have in the Village and our area. The Chamber of Southern Saratoga County will be an eager partner in helping promote our local community via the proposed kiosk at Walmart."
Walmart's new store just outside the Village at Route 50 and 67 will include a full service grocery, which is lacking in the community, and wide selection of general merchandise. "We're looking forward to being a part of the business community in the Town of Ballston and the neighboring Village of Ballston Spa," said Walmart spokesman Bill Wertz. "We anticipate that our store will be a destination for many area residents and visitors, and we want our customers to be able to easily access information about the many attractions, products and services to be found in the area."
Walmart is currently undergoing local permitting review of their store proposal.
