Key’s Gifts to the Community Grant

Barn will be awarded a grant in the amount of $3,825.00 as part of KeyBank’s ‘Key’s
Gifts to the Community’ program. Funds received from this grant will assist
Albany Barn with capacity building initiatives to support the organization’s
mission to leverage the creative arts to help catalyze community development. Additional
beneficiaries of the Key’s Gifts to the Community program include Saratoga
Center for the Family, Unity House, and Habitat for Humanity of Schenectady
County.

Albany
Barn is a local nonprofit 501(c) (3) organization operating a permanent
creative arts incubator and community arts center in Albany, NY called The
Barn. Albany Barn partnered with the Albany Housing Authority and the City of
Albany to redevelop St. Joseph’s Academy, a long-vacant former school building
in the Arbor Hill neighborhood, for that purpose. The Barn and Stage 1 Gallery,
both located in Arbor Hill, offer affordable residential and work spaces for
artist, programming, performance, event, and meeting space available to the
