MVP Health Care® Continues Expansion of Services & Programs; Now Offers Medicaid and Child Health Plus Insurance to Uninsured in Six New Counties
Schenectady, NY – MVP Health Care (MVP) is expanding its Medicaid Managed Care and Child Health Plus (CHPlus) programs to residents in six additional Capital Region counties. Residents from birth to age 64 are now able to enroll in low-cost or, in some cases, free coverage, depending on household income and other program eligibility requirements. Uninsured Albany, Jefferson, Rensselaer, Saratoga, Schenectady and Warren county residents who meet the eligibility requirements for Medicaid or CHPlus can apply for coverage with MVP. That means Capital Region infants, toddlers, school children, teens and adults can now access these valuable programs through MVP, and that the enrollment process is easily accessible on the New York State of Health online marketplace.
Last year, MVP joined forces with Hudson Health Plan to allow the company to expand its CHPlus and Medicaid programs throughout New York State. The innovative approach has enhanced MVP’s ability to provide services to communities.
“Most people are unaware that they may be eligible for Medicaid or Child Health Plus coverage, often at minimal cost, or even no cost, depending on household income,” said Denise Gonick, CEO and president of MVP. “We are proud that we are able to expand our offerings into additional counties as we continue to grow. Our goal is to educate individuals and families about these options, so that they can receive regular checkups and have access to quality care when they are sick.”
Both the managed Medicaid Managed Care and CHPlus programs through MVP offer comprehensive coverage, including checkups, hospitalizations, dental and vision care, and emergency treatment, among many other benefits. No co-payments are required for CHPlus and premiums for Child Health Plus are calculated on a sliding scale according to gross household income, when applicable.
“At MVP, we’re working to ensure that all New Yorkers have access to health coverage,” said Mark Santiago, Vice President of Retail Outreach at MVP. “For those eligible for these great public programs, there should be no worries about the cost of going to see a doctor. Our ability to grow our reach and be flexible enough to enhance our programs to match the needs of our communities is a great benefit to New Yorkers looking for minimal or no-cost health care options.”
