DeCrescente Distributing Company welcomes new Belgium Brewing to the Capital Region

New Belgium Brewing, the fourth largest craft brewer in the country, will be entering the Capital Region market in May 2016.

Mechanicville – DeCrescente Distributing Company today announced it would begin distributing New Belgium Brewing brands on May 16, opening a new distribution territory in New York State.

“We are very excited that New Belgium Brewing has chosen DeCrescente Distributing as its wholesaler in the Capital Region,” said C.J. DeCrescente, president of DeCrescente Distributing Company. “New Belgium’s portfolio of award-winning beers will make a great addition to our wholesale offerings and helps us in our goal to be the craft beer distributor of choice in Upstate New York.”

The Fort Collins-based brewery opened its doors in 1991, after Jeff Lebesch and Kim Jordan took their passion of homebrewing to commercial brewing. Named in honor of Jeff’s bicycling trip through Europe, Fat Tire quickly became New Belgium’s flagship beer. As Fat Tire grew in popularity, so did the brewery. New Belgium is now the fourth-largest craft brewery and eighth-largest overall brewery in the country. New Belgium will open a second brewing facility in Asheville, N.C. on May 2. With the capacity to brew more beer, New Belgium is expecting to produce over one million barrels in 2016.

“From our standpoint, DeCrescente Distributing clearly demonstrated why they are one of the best in the business,” said East Coast Division Sales Director Rich Rush. “Their dedication to quality, customer service and their company culture align with ours. We’re very excited to be able to get our beer to the Capital Region consumer.”

New Belgium will make its Capital Region debut by offering mainstays like Fat Tire, Ranger IPA, Citradelic IPA, Rampant Imperial IPA, Heavy Melon, Glutiny Pale Ale, and Glutiny Golden Ale in a variety of draft and package options.
