Saratoga Horse Expo rescheduled to be a 2016 event
Saratoga Springs – The Capital Fund of Saratoga County, Inc. operators of the Saratoga Horse Expo, announced that this year’s Saratoga Horse Expo has been rescheduled to occur in September 2016. “The amount of effort it takes to organize and produce such an event can be overpowering to a group of volunteers that are giving of their limited resources to put this event on for the benefit of the Saratoga community and the Saratoga County charities that benefit from it” says Tom Fueston, Capital Fund President. “We are disappointed that we need to take this step, but we believe that in the long term this additional time will enable us to put together an entertainment and educational program that young and old alike will enjoy regardless if they are horse owners or just horse lovers. So make sure you flip your calendars to 2016 and pencil in the Saratoga Horse Expo. It will be the biggest and best ever.”
Traditionally the Saratoga Horse Expo strives to bring in equestrian entertainment from many different disciplines to help educate and share information with the local community and horse owners / lovers. This includes competitive equine related event, seminars and demonstrations on equine related topics such as hoof care, shoeing, starting a new horse, equine chiropractic, other equine health ailments, etc. Also included are a variety of vendors and tack swap tables to satisfy your shopping urge. There are games and things for the children to do such as pony rides, petting zoo, bounce houses, and others. Various types of equine equipment will be on display such as horse trailers and tractors. Food and beverage vendors are also on site. All this taking place at the historic Saratoga Race Course.
The Saratoga Horse Expo is charity fund raising event. In the past two years it has helped support some of the food pantry’s in Saratoga County and also the Saratoga War Horse Foundation which helps veteran’s and their families cope with service related issues. The 2016 Expo will again be used to help select charities within Saratoga County that are helping others in need.
The Capital Fund of Saratoga County, Inc. was formed in late 2011 as a 501(c)3 charity to operate the Saratoga Springs Horse Show and later the Saratoga Horse Expo and through its efforts to date have provided over $175,000 in assistance to local charities.
