B&B Wine and Liquors changing hands
SARATOGA SPRINGS>> A local wine and liquor store is changing hands from one pair of business owners to the next.
B&B Wine and Liquors, located in the Price Chopper Plaza at 129 Ballston Ave. in Saratoga, has been sold to David Geurtze and John Bogardus by its former owners Dan Beauregard and Rich Sheridan, who have operated the store since 1992.
After enjoying 22 years of profitable business, Beauregard and Sheridan now desire to retire, a press release stated.
B&B Liquors has been serving the Saratoga region as a neighborhood liquor store since it first opened in 1973. The store is in a high-volume shopping center with Price Chopper, along with other national retail chains and local vendors.
In its new phase, “John and I are very excited about our new venture and all that Saratoga Springs has to offer,” Geurtze said in the press release. “We look forward to continuing to provide customers with the great wines and spirits they enjoy, and growing our selection to include new products.”
“Our goal is to create a unique shopping experience,” added Bogardus. “We want to focus on providing expert professional service and great quality products - all tailored to the needs of the customer.”
As the former businessmen enter retirement, “Rich and I are delighted to leave the store and our patrons in the hands of two industry experts”, Beauregard said, mantioning that Guertze has 15 years of experience and was the manager of Upstate Wine and Spirits in Delmar’s Delaware Plaza and Bogardus is an oenophile who plans to expand the store’s selection of fine wines.
