DeCrescente Distributing Co. to expand headquarters; Spirits of Saratoga Wine & Liquor closes
New corporate facility for DeCrescente Distributing
MECHANICVILLE — DeCrescente Distributing, a leading beverage distributor serving 11 counties around the Capital District, recently announced plans to break ground on a new state-of-the-art headquarters in Mechanicville.
In less than two weeks, the fourth-generation family run company will start work on two new buildings: a 19,000 square foot POS vending building and a 29,000 square foot conference center.
DeCrescente Distributing Co. teamed up with C.T. Male Associates and BBL Construction to begin construction on the new corporate facility, which features a full gym, cafeteria, wellness center, main conference area and plenty of extra office space.
Construction will commence on August 22 and the project is expected to wrap on June 1, 2012.
Wilton liquor store closes its doors
WILTON — Just heard from a fellow co-worker that Spirits of Saratoga Wine & Liquor, located on Lowes Drive near WalMart in Wilton, has officially closed for business. No word on why or when at this time.

The owners and staff at Spirits of Saratoga Wine & Liquor were extremely friendly and pleasant. It's too bad they couldn't make it.
Based on my personal experience they probably closed due to their prices which were much higher than other stores. They could not compete with Purdy's for instance nor did they offer the variety.
