The Beresford Gallery returns to Saratoga for 31st year; Motivational program leader partners with local businesses
The Beresford Gallery returns for 31st season in Saratoga
SARATOGA SPRINGS — The Beresford Gallery will re-open this Friday, August 5, in the Shoe Depot building at 385 Broadway in Saratoga Springs.
Based in Unionville, Pa., the gallery exhibits annually in the Hamptons, Wellington and Saratoga Springs as well as in Florida during the winter months.
Founded over 40 years ago, the Beresford Gallery specializes in sporting-themed paintings, statues and sculptures — with a Saratoga specialty in equine and racing centered work.
This year marks the Beresford’s 31st straight year exhibiting in Saratoga Springs, but it’s the gallery’s first time in a new location within the Shoe Depot building. Throughout the 15 day stay on Broadway, the Beresford will feature artists painting at the gallery and customers will have the chance to commission their own personal piece by a Beresford artist.
The gallery will be open from 10 a.m. until 7 p.m. between August 5 and 20. For more information stop by 385 Broadway or call 583-4523.
Local motivational speaker Coach Johns brings aboard more Saratoga business sponsors
SARATOGA SPRINGS — President of the Act With Respect Always program Rich Johns (also known as “Coach Johns”) recently announced a new partnership with several Saratoga Springs-based businesses.
After teaching and coaching in the Saratoga school district for nearly 40 years, Johns founded the Act With Respect Always campaign. He travels to schools across the Capital District giving presentations and holding workshops to teach students the importance of leadership and character education both in the classroom, as well as on the athletic fields.
This month, Johns announced Act With Respect Always’ most recent local business partners: Adirondack Trust, Scotty’s Exit 16, The Stadium Café, Saratoga Springs Lieutenants PBA, Cudney’s Cleaners, Saratoga Honda, Saratoga Springs Firefighters, Holiday Inn of Saratoga, Saratoga Strike Zone, Turbine Services Limited, Saratoga National Bank and The Hampton Inn.
Acknowledging the importance of these recent sponsors Johns stated, “Having the addition of these fine groups as part of our ‘endorsement team’ helps us to spread this importance word about respect.”
The new business advocates join a long list of Act With Respect Always sponsors including local businesses like the Saratoga Springs Rotary Club and Roohan Realty.
