Tool Box opens on Oct.1

ALBANY -The Tool Box, a donation based, volunteer handyman run resale shop selling used tools and hardware opened Thursday, Oct. 1 at 1693 Central Ave. in Albany.  All proceeds made at the Tool Box support the Umbrella of Colonie home maintenance program of Colonie Senior Service Centers, Inc. to help seniors with the cost of handyman repairs in their homes and yard.

This program gives people looking to downsize an opportunity to donate their tools to a good cause, and also the chance to pass down a part of their life. This tool resale shop will accept functioning battery-operated and manual tools and equipment including, but not limited to, hand and power tools, hardware and fittings, and gardening and lawn care tools.  After being cleaned, the Tool Box sells these tools for a fraction of the going market rate.  This is a great opportunity for new homeowners, and other individuals looking for reliable, inexpensive tools.

Colonie Senior Service Centers is an independent, community based non-profit serving the largest population of seniors in the Capital Region.
