Realizing a dream on River Street
Overlooking the heart of downtown Troy, Karma Hair Studio provides a unique hair service experience to Collar City residents.
It took just four short weeks to open Karma Hair Studio (265 River St.,Troy), but it’s been over the last six months that she’s been open that owner Stephanie Krug said that she has seen her dreams come true.
“It is an unbelievable feeling to have a core group of community members, friends, and family who have been so supportive of my dreams. Lynsey Ciraulo and Audrey Palma have made this not just a job but a home. They are the two most talented stylists I have ever had the privilege to work alongside of. This continued journey only holds new and exciting chapters for us,” said Krug.
Krug said that the hair studio has evolved from a simple idea among friends into an eccentric and welcoming space for men and women to receive a high quality hair service and that Karma Hair Studio is built around the idea of educating the world on healthy beauty alternatives.
“We currently live in a world where men and women are extremely interested in becoming more conscious about what are bodies consume,” she said. “Utilizing more natural products such as Kemon, a PPD and ammonia free color, as well as the cruelty-Free Kevin Murphy product line and naturally derived gluten-free Loma products, we can provide our clients with knowledgeable feedback and guidance for safe, everyday hair routines.”
The studio is located within the same building that houses The Arts Center of the Capital Region and overlooks Troy’s historic Monument Square. Krug keeps the space lively with constantly changing plant life and a mix of modern and vintage furnishings. Recently, a Yelp reviewer wrote: "Lynsey, Stephanie and Audrey have an incredible salon. After stepping into this incredible loft space for the first time this week, I cannot wait to tell others about it. The views and natural light are unbelievable and the vibe is so upbeat and positive.”
Krug said that the Karma team has gained a serious following since opening in February and that she looks forward to connecting with more people in the Capital Region who will benefit from the studio’s philosophies. Karma Hair Studio will formally celebrate a six month anniversary for Troy Night Out on July 30, 2015 from 6 PM to 8 PM.
The official ribbon cutting will take place at Karma Hair Studio on Friday, July 10 at 12:30 PM.
