Tucker Strategies to provide interim services for CEDC
Hudson, NY - The
Columbia Economic Development Corporation (CEDC) Board of Directors
will retain Tucker Strategies, Inc., an Albany-based real estate,
energy, economic and business development consulting firm, to provide
part time, interim Executive Director services beginning August 1, 2015.
CEDC
Board of Directors recently completed an evaluation of the mission,
operation and structure of the organization and made the determination
to move forward with a reorganization plan. A cornerstone of this plan
is to move to a full time Executive Director.
F.
Michael Tucker, President of Tucker Strategies, will assist CEDC by
providing the day to day organizational leadership and support needed,
as well as assist CEDC as it begins a search for a new full time
Executive Director.
“Mike
Tucker is perfectly poised to provide leadership and continuity to
CEDC,” stated CEDC Board Secretary Sarah Sterling. “His background and
tireless efforts on behalf of economic development makes him the ideal
leader to carry on CEDC’s critical work. We are fortunate to be working
with him during this important transition phase.”
Tucker
recently stepped down from his position as President and CEO at the
Center for Economic Growth (CEG) after eight successful years to launch
Tucker Strategies, Inc. With an office in downtown Albany, the
consulting firm helps businesses and organizations develop innovative
growth strategies based on their depth of knowledge, focus on
innovation, and commitment to impact.
“In
addition to his business and economic development skills, Mike Tucker
has long been a catalyst in making the connections necessary for
economic development to thrive,” stated CEDC Board Member Tony Jones.
“Mike’s ability to serve as an organizational spokesperson and his
understanding of the importance of collaborating with constituents who
care about economic development will enable him to ‘hit the ground
running’.”
Michael
Tucker serves on the Capital Region Economic Development Council and is
actively involved in the Capital Region Creative Economy initiative –
both critically important to the economic development activities in
Columbia County.
