Credit unions announce participation in CO-OP Shared Branch Network
Executive Officers of Hudson River Community Credit Union (HRCCU) and CAP COM Federal Credit Unionannounced their participation in the CO-OP Shared Branch Network.
The initiative will allow HRCCU and CAP COM members to perform financial transactions at either of the credit unions’ branches, as well as at more than 5,000 CO-OP locations nationwide. This partnership will immediately add 14 local branches to the shared branch network and a 15th location when CAP COM breaks ground in Malta this summer.
“We are pleased to announce our participation in the CO-OP Shared Branch Network. Through this shared branching service, we provide greater access for credit union members to their accounts while supporting the credit union philosophy of people helping people,” said HRCCU CEO Sue Commanda in a press release.
“The CO-OP Shared Branch Network exemplifies the spirit that makes credit unions so unique,” said CAP COM president and CEO Paula Stopera in the release. “As credit unions, we have a common goal of helping members make educated financial decisions. We welcome the members of partnering credit unions to conduct their banking as conveniently as possible.”
The national CO-OP Shared Branch network links participating credit unions electronically. Allowing credit union members to access their account information and perform transactions such as deposits, withdrawals, account inquiries, loan payments and loan advances, is an example of credit unions working together in a way that competing banks typically do not.
HRCCU and CAP COM join other participating local credit unions including: First New York FCU, Saratoga’s Community FCU, School Systems FCU and Sunmark FCU.
