News from Leonard Bus Sales

Saratoga Springs, N.Y. -It's a special year at Leonard Bus Sales as the family-run company celebrates its 50th year as a leader in the school bus industry. OnWednesday, May 20, the company will celebrate this milestone with a customer appreciation gathering at the company facilities in Saratoga Springs, New York. Representatives from surrounding school districts will be on hand.

Media is invited to attend between 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. The event program will run from 11:30 to 12:50. The best time for one-on-one interviews will be before or after the program. The event is being held at the Leonard Bus Sales facility at  63 Duplainville Road, Saratoga Springs, NY 12866.

"We began as a family business, founded on the principles of honesty, fairness and hard work," said Leonard Bus Sales CEO Mike Leonard. "We've stayed true to those values as we've grown and expanded over the years. Now, we want to celebrate those values and that accomplishment. What better way to do that than by celebrating with our school transportation partners."

It was 1965 when Gerald and Helen Leonard first began distributing school buses out of a facility in Hancock, New York. Half a century later, Leonard Bus Sales has more than 150 employees spread across six locations in New York State. Still very much a family-owned company, Leonard Bus Sales is led today by Mike Leonard -- Gerald and Helen's son -- and managed by a team of experienced transportation professionals, which includes four of Mike's sons.

Today, Leonard Bus Sales is a leader in the distribution and support of school and commercial buses, serving as a one-stop-shop for IC Bus brand buses in Upstate New York, and for Trans Tech and Champion buses throughout the state. The team at Leonard Bus Sales has received repeated recognition for the support and service it gives customers, winning the IC Bus Pursuit of Excellence award repeatedly and also being named the Trans Tech dealer of the year.

"We strive every day to do more than just sell great buses," said Leonard Bus Sales Director of Sales and Marketing Frank Continetti. "We work to be a partner and trusted advisor. We work with our school districts to give them the support they need, whether it's near-zero emission school buses, technical training or cost-saving fleet management. That's all because of our family approach to the business."

The company's devotion to the founding principles of honesty and fairness, along with its commitment to passenger safety and determination to give its customers the best, is driving the company successfully into the future.

"It gives me great pride to see what this company has done for the bus industry the past 50 years, and what our employees do every day," Mike Leonard added. "As we celebrate our 50th anniversary, I look forward with great hope to another 50 years. And I know our team and our principles will take us there."
