Saratoga Eco-Retailer, Green Conscience, Announces Giving Program and Partnership with Albany-Based, Twill

SARATOGA SPRINGS – Saratoga Springs-based eco-retailer, Green Conscience, is proud to announce its new "Green Conscience Giving" initiative, a program that will enable the company to partner with other organizations in the local sustainability movement to give back to the community.
As the first step in the Giving program, Green Conscience owner and founder, Karen Totino, has partnered with Albany-based Twill. Started by Zac and Jer Halloran and Jac Lombardo of Albany, Twill offers 100% Certified Organic Cotton blankets that are fashioned in the state of South Carolina from American-sourced material.  The company's motto is "Where there’s a Twill, there’s a way," and with good reason.  With their “One Purchased, One Given” program, every blanket purchased from Twill, the company also donates one to a child in need. Through partnerships with Saint Catherine’s Center for Children, the American Red Cross, Albany Medical Center, the American Cancer Society, and the Kidney Foundation among others, Twill is able to place their donated blankets into the hands of those who need them most.
"Children facing homelessness, temporary hardship and life-threatening illness receive the same exact quality Twill Blanket that you purchase. Through partnerships with our Blanket Buddies, we are able to get warmth and inspiration into the hands of children needing it most,” says Zac Halloran.
Karen Totino has been quick to express her excitement at the partnership between Green Conscience and Twill, as the two companies share the same goals of local enrichment and support. "I'm so excited to be partnering with Twill at the beginning of Green Conscience Giving! We are also looking into other ways to continue to support and give back to the local community”, Totino said.
In keeping with the spirit of the Giving initiative, Green Conscience has also previously supported Rebuilding Together Saratoga County, a volunteer organization that focuses on providing critical repairs for low-income homeowners in the area.
Consumers interested in purchasing a Twill blanket or helping to support Green Conscience Giving can either stop by the store at 33 Church St, Saratoga Springs, or contact Karen Totino at (518) 306-5196.
