10th Annual A Taste of Albany good to the last bite
ALBANY>> The 10th Annual A Taste of Albany, culinary showcase and benefit for Interfaith Partnership for the Homeless (IPH), was presented by SEFCU on Thursday, April 30 at the NYS Museum. The event raised a record-setting $130,000, an increase over last year’s earnings of $111,000.
“These funds allow us to further our programs and services that assist individuals and families of the
homeless and low-income community,” said IPH Executive Director, Janine Robitaille. “This event has grown tremendously over the past ten years, and the support we receive from sponsors, donors, volunteers, and friends of IPH have contributed to the continued success of this event.”
More than 600 guests attended the 10th Annual A Taste of Albany, enjoying a delicious cocktail hour presented by ShopRite Supermarkets and sampling tastes from more than 30 Capital Region restaurants at the event’s renowned Culinary Showcase. Other event highlights included a red carpet entrance, entertainment by the Grand Central Station Trio, wine pull, and live and silent auctions.
“For ten years, A Taste of Albany has brought together all the best things in this area: great restaurants, a terrific venue, and all the attendees and sponsors who generously support Interfaith Partnership for theHomeless, a most vital organization in our community,” said Michael J. Castellana, SEFCU president and CEO.
This year’s lineup of restaurants included: Albany Pump Station, Angelo’s 677 Prime, Brown’s Brewing Co., Barcelona Restaurant, the Barrelhouse, Cider Belly Doughnuts, Creo, Crisan Bakery, El Mariachi Mexican Restaurant, Grappa ‘72, Grandma Millie’s Bakery, Healthy Café Catering Co., the Honest Weight Food Co-op, the Merry Monk, Milano, New World Bistro Bar, No Scone Unturned, Old Daley Catering, One Six Five at Normanside Country Club, Pasta Pane, Provence, Roma Foods, the Ruck, Scrimshaw at the Desmond Hotel, Stacks Espresso Bar, Texas de Brazil, Umana Restaurant & Wine Bar, Villa Italia Bakery, We Do Fondue, and Yono's.
Guests also enjoyed complimentary beer and wine from Brown’s Brewing Co., C.H. Evans Brewing Company Albany Pump Station, Upstate Wine & Spirits, Co., and Rex-Goliath Wines.
