ALBANY — Sylvan Learning, Inc., a leading provider of personalized tutoring for students in grades K-12, has named Michele Reedy of Albany director of education for the local franchise’s Clifton Park office.

In her new role, Reedy is responsible for administering the Sylvan skills assessment and instructional programs and maintaining all facets of those programs.  She will also oversee the hiring, training and performance of instructors.

“As Sylvan Learning continues growing in Southern Saratoga, it’s imperative to have a strong leadership team in place,” said Executive Director Patrick McNamara.  “Michele not only has a strong administrative background, but also the educational skills required to help students gain the confidence they need to improve their grades.”

Reedy joined the Sylvan team as a teacher at the Albany center in April 2014.  She previously owned and operated a New York State-registered family daycare business and worked with the Albany City School District.

Reedy holds an undergraduate degree in marketing and management from Siena College and a master’s degree in childhood education from The College of Saint Rose.
