Gideon Putnam Resort appoints new food and beverage director

The Gideon Putnam Resort and Spa and the Delaware North Companies Parks and Resorts have announced the appointment of Bill Borden as the new director of food and beverage at the iconic Saratoga Springs destination.

Borden will oversee all operations of food and beverage, including kitchen, restaurant, bar and catering for the historic hotel located in Saratoga Spa State Park. He has plans to take Putnam’s Restaurant in a new and exciting direction, with a focus on grilled items and fresh, seasonal products using local vendors. The Gideon Putnam will also be upgrading its beverage menu to feature age-old cocktail standbys including Manhattans, old-fashioneds and Pimm's Cups.

Borden brings years of hospitality experience to the Gideon Putnam Resort. Prior to joining Delaware North, he held the same position with Westin, Omni, Marriott and Starwood hotels. Borden was the general manager of Chicago’s storied Pump Room, and has also owned and managed his own restaurant.

With roots in upstate New York, he is delighted to be back in Saratoga Springs where he and his wife, Paula, were married in April 2013.

The Gideon Putnam Resort and Spa is a National Historic Landmark Hotel managed by Delaware North Companies Parks and Resorts in partnership with Saratoga Casino and Raceway.
