Northshire event: Author Julia Spencer-Fleming presents her “Through the Evil Days”
Feb.
15 at 7 p.m., Northshire Bookstore on Broadway will host a reading, discussion
and book-signing with award-winning and “New York Times”-bestselling author
Julia Spencer-Fleming, who will present her “Through the Evil Days: A Clare Fergusson/Russ
Van Alstyne Mystery:
In this
new novel, Spencer-Fleming raises the stakes for her widely beloved characters Russ
and Clare, putting their new marriage, their unborn child, a missing teenager
and their own lives on the line.
On a
frigid January night, Chief of Police Russ Van Alstyne and Rev. Clare Fergusson
are called to the scene of a raging fire. The extent of the tragedy isn't known
until the next day, when the charred remains of a man and woman are recovered —
along with evidence showing they were shot execution-style.
Spencer-Fleming’s
previous books include “One Was a Soldier,” and she is an Agatha, Anthony,
Dilys, Barry, Macavity and Gumshoe award winner. Her books have been
shortlisted for the Edgar, Nero Wolfe and Romantic Times Reviewers' Choice
Awards. She studied acting and history at Ithaca College, and received her
J.D. at the University of Maine School of Law. Julia lives in a 190-year-old
farmhouse in southern Maine with her husband and three children.
