Phinney Design Group celebrates 10-year anniversary
Phinney Design Group, a multidisciplinary architecture, interior design, green building consulting and construction management firm in Saratoga Springs, celebrates its 10th year of success this month.
To thank its partners, clients,
colleagues and staff, the firm is hosting an invitation-only 10-year anniversary
celebration Wednesday, Nov. 20 at Saratoga National Golf Club. At the event,
Phinney Design Group will unveil an abridged version of an architectural
monograph, a compilation of milestone and gateway projects, an explanation of
the architecture firm’s design process and the inspiration behind its work.
“We pride ourselves on exceeding the
needs and expectations of our clients,” Founder and Principal Michael Phinney said.
“It’s been a privilege to be involved with so many unique and impactful
projects, forwarding our green efforts and changing the misconceptions about
environmentally friendly development. It can be done beautifully.”
A Lake George native, Phinney first
realized his passion for environmentally sensitive architecture while attending
Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute’s School of Architecture.
Founded in 2003, Phinney Design Group has
spent the last decade dedicated to incorporating sustainable and
environmentally sensitive principles in almost every project. Known for
commitment to green technologies and ecological features, Phinney and his staff
of 16 professionals have created diverse spaces for municipal, custom
residential, commercial and hospitality clients throughout the Northeast. The
firm’s reputation continues to grow as one committed to high-quality and
aesthetically pleasing buildings and homes.
Phinney Design Group approaches each
project holistically, and provides consistent interaction and communication
with its clients throughout the entire design and construction process. Much of
the firm’s focus is on sustainable and environmentally sensitive construction
methods serving residential, commercial and hospitality markets.
The Phinney Design Group portfolio
includes Lake George’s Sagamore Resort, the Whitney Viewing Stand at the
Saratoga Race Course, the Bio Building at the Wild Center/Natural History
Museum of the Adirondacks, Mohonk Mountain House, Double H Hole in the Woods
Ranch on Lake Luzerne, Local Union 773 and countless private custom residences.
Phinney Design Group even designed its own office space on Beekman Street.
The firm has been honored with a number
of awards in recent years, including the Preservation Recognition Award,
Adirondack Park Excellence in Design Award, Business Review 40 under 40, NYS
American Institute of Architects Merit Award and Small Business Excellence
Award.
Phinney expects more interest in green
building in the coming years, and believes more home and business owners will
continue to explore sustainability.
