The Town of Malta is holding the first ever Malta Career Development Expo and Job Fair next week, Thursday, Oct. 24 from 12:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Malta Community Center, 1 Bayberry Drive, Malta.

The event is free to job seekers, features approximately 20 area employers, and boasts a full day of sessions and interactive resources for job seekers to develop skills to get noticed in a competitive job market.

On the agenda will be:

  • Sam Palozzole, Saratoga Builders: Advice for Skilled Labor and Trades
  • Noney Grier, Veterans Affairs: Vet Benefits You Probably Didn’t Know About
  • Michelle Przedwiecki, Braathe Enterprises: The Value of Virtual Internship
  • Liska Wilson, She’s a Boss: Why You Can’t Have the Job You Want…Yet!
  • Marion Alteri, Racing Author and Columnist: Ageism is Real--but We Don’t Care
  • Howard Litwak, Local Business Coach: Will emcee two speed networking rounds
  • Kristen Aust, Bryant & Stratton Colleges: Everything You Need to Know About Resumes and Cover Letters

The New York State  Department of Labor and Saratoga County One-Stop will be providing one-on-one resume critiques all afternoon.

“The event is just a little different than the usual job fair,” said Angela McFarland, publisher of the Ballston Journal and co-sponsor of the event. “We all agreed that we wanted an interactive event that went just a little deeper and would, we hoped, make our guests feel like they walked away with more than just a job lead.”

Featured employers include Accustaff, Adirondack Oral Maxillofacial Surgery, Angiodynamics, Avon, Ballston Spa National Bank, County Waste and Recycling, Greater Adirondack Home Health Aides, Hannaford Supermarkets, Home of the Good Shepard,  Hudson Valley Community College TEC-SMART,  Janitronics, McDonald’s, New York Life Insurance, Saratoga Casino and Raceway, Saratoga Hospital, the Times Union, Time Warner Cable, Trustco Bank and Visiting Nurses Association.

The Malta Career Development Expo and Job Fair is a partnership among the Town of Malta, the Chamber of Southern Saratoga County, Bryant & Stratton College and the Ballston Journal.
