Often when local restaurants close, callers get nothing but unanswered rings. Such was the case with the former Chocolate Mill at 382 Broadway, owned by chocolatier Frank Vollkommer, also the proprietor of the Glens Falls Chocolate Mill, where the phone has also been ringing without going to voicemail.

The mystery was partly solved Friday night, when Saratoga restaurateurs Christel and Colin MacLean, owners of Circus Café, The Crown Grill and Realty Saratoga announced they planned to open their new Saratoga Juice Bar in that Broadway space.

“In June, we were happy to come across an available storefront where the Chocolate Mill was formerly located,” said Christel MacLean. “We are so excited to be the first cold pressed juice bar in Saratoga.”

Saratoga Juice Bar will offer a variety of cold pressed juices, smoothies (with the option of adding supplements and/or boosters), “grab and go” healthy sandwiches and salads, as well as juice cleanses.

The MacLeans plan to open the juice bar late the week of July 15; an official date is still being determined.
