Popular local bakery fills chocolate void in Clifton Park

Lindsey's Country Store owner Diane Lindsey Curwick and local dignitaries will hold a ribbon cutting ceremony Friday, July 31 at noon to celebrate the opening of “The Sweet Shoppe,” an area inside Lindsey’s Country Store located on Route 9 in Halfmoon.
The small family-run business has provided their signature muffins, pies, pastries and gift baskets to the local area since 1988. With the relocation of Saratoga Sweets to Saratoga Springs, Curwick has been working with the original chocolatier to learn more about the candy business.

“Its a great marriage between our original offerings and fine chocolates, and even more exciting is the addition of our own homemade fudge,” Curwick said, “but be sure, we will be keeping everything you love about our store.”

Since they make 50 varieties of gourmet muffins every morning, Lindsey’s does not know how to make just one flavor of their baked goods. They are in the process of creating just as many flavors of fudge and have already expanded their chocolate candy selection since taking it on in February of
this year.

Nine Pin Cidery will be joining in on the celebration with free tastings and sales on  Friday, July 31 from 11 - 4.   Backstretch Barbeque will offer their award winning pulled pork sandwiches Saturday August 1 from 11 - 3 only.

Special sales and taste samples of foods from Lindsey's Country Store and other local food products will be offered both days.

Lindsey’s Country Store is also known for their multiple flavors of pies, apple cider donuts and unique blend of apple cider pressed at the store location.

Additionally, Lindsey’s offers an assortment of local food items including honey, maple syrup and its own farm-raised beef and pork. The gift shop features a women’s boutique, jewelry, candles, greeting cards, home decor and more.

Lindsey’s Country Store is associated with Lindsey’s Idyllwood Orchards, the first area pick-your-own apple orchard located in Rexford.
