Albany, NY—The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) has presented The 504 Company, also known as Empire State Certified Development Corporation, with its 2014 Community Advantage Award as the nation’s top Community Advantage lender. The 504 Company topped all other Community Advantage lenders in the nation by approving 67 loans to startup and existing small businesses worth over $8.6 million dollars.
The Community Advantage Lender Award is given to organizations which provide loans to small businesses in underserved markets, so that such businesses may meet their credit, management and technical assistance needs.
“This award is a testament to the hard work of our fantastic team at The 504 Company. We’re proud to help small businesses grow by providing access to capital to start, sustain or grow operations. This is critical to the continued economic recovery of New York,” said Patrick MacKrell, president and CEO at The 504 Company.
“Community Advantage is an important tool to expand opportunities and access to capital in areas previously underserved,” said SBA Syracuse District Director Bernard J. Paprocki as he presented the award to The 504 Company.
