NEW LITTLE DOG LOUNGE SET TO OPEN IN LATHAM

Colonie Chamber of Commerce announces the grand opening of The Little Dog Lounge in Latham

Colonie, N.Y. –Thursday, November 20^th, The Little Dog Lounge plans to celebrate their first location at 637 New Loudon Rd with a grand opening celebration beginning at 5:30 PM.  A ribbon cutting ceremony will kick-off the celebration at 5:30 PM, followed by tours of the facility.

The Little Dog Lounge brings a unique perspective to dog care by only offering services to small dogs.  “We love dogs of all sizes,” says co-owner Maree Chiera, “but we wanted to have a place where people can go and know their little dogs will be loved, pampered and played with extensively.”  The Little Dog Lounge will provide their guests daycare and pet taxi services, a grooming and spa experience, a boutique, and a crate free environment.   

Chiera, a real estate broker and investor for 14 years, previously owned two gyms before opening The Little Dog Lounge.  “I wanted to open another small business that contributes to the local community,” says Chiera, a resident of Loudonville.  Coincidently, while adding to the community, The Little Dog Lounge has also created a community for the very canines it cares for.  “It’s a place where your dogs can relax, socialize, and unwind.” 

Chiera’s business partner, Judy Carioto, co-owner and resident of Loudonville, is taking a brake from her 17 year profession as a Registered Dietitian and Nutritionist to follow her dream of opening her own small business.  While Carioto will be handling the day to day operations of the facility, both owners plan to very hands on and are CPR Pet certified by the American Red Cross.
