The Turf Club goes out to pasture
The Turf Club Restaurant at 139 Union Ave. has closed its doors, shutting up a Saratoga eatery that offered locally grown and purchased food. Dedicated to high quality and personal service, the Turf Club featured live entertainment and catering.
Beverly Reedy and her son Rob Cone opened the restaurant in May 2011. Reedy also owns the popular Saratoga Springs breakfast spot Beverly’s, which she started 23 years ago. She will go back to concentrating on her Beverly’s Best line of food products. Cone acted as chef at the Turf Club.
The two restaurateurs rented the building from owners Peter and Leslie DiCarlo, who ran the Springwater Inn there during the 1990s, and again from 2009 to 2010. In between, the building was home to chef David Britton’s Springwater Bistro for eight years.
“It is with regret that the Turf Club will be closing this month,” Reedy said. She said she was grateful for another opportunity to serve the community of Saratoga, and thanked her staff and committed friends who supported the restaurant.
“We want to thank our customers for the good time we had,” said both Turf Club owners in a Facebook post. “You will be missed.”
The restaurant is available for lease. Contact Peter DiCarlo at the Springwater B&B, 583-3661, for more information.
