Palace Theatre launches new concession software platform Appetize
Venue is first indoor theatre in upstate New York to partner with innovative technology service
Albany – The Palace Theatre today announced that it is the first indoor theatre venue in upstate New York to partner with Appetize Technologies, the industry’s leading cloud-based enterprise point of sale system. The new software will improve concessions, bar service and inventory management at the historic entertainment venue in downtown Albany.
Appetize represents two of the fastest growing subsets of technology: point of sale and mobile payments – a market which is projected to grow by 400 percent over the next four years. The software offers a faster, easier-to-use sales experience for the patron and sophisticated, customized backend analytics to track inventory and provide real-time sales information to the venue. It also allows the Palace Theatre to accept all forms of payment at every concession area throughout the venue, speeding up the purchasing process for customers. The new service launched at the Palace Theatre in early December.
“Our investment in Appetize allows us to provide patrons with cutting-edge technology resulting in the best experience possible at the Palace,” said Palace Theatre Executive Director Holly Brown. “This new software makes concessions payments more convenient and quicker so that our guests may spend their time at the Palace truly enjoying the world-class entertainment we bring to this historic stage.”
The Palace Theatre joins a select list of other notable sports and entertainment venues which currently utilize Appetize that include: Madison Square Garden in New York City, NY; Nikon at Jones Beach Theater in Wantagh, NY; and the Saratoga Performing Arts Center in Saratoga Springs, NY. “We’re extremely excited about the opportunity to partner with such a historic venue and look forward to a long lasting relationship,” said Wayne Scarsella, Vice President of Sales for Appetize. “Our solutions will provide their operators with the best combination of stability and modernity to better manage their day-to-day operations, ultimately improving the guest experience while attending a show at the Palace Theatre.”

The Palace Theatre has been Albany’s iconic downtown landmark for the last eight decades – bringing the biggest names in entertainment to the Capital Region. This grand cultural and entertainment facility first opened its doors in October 1931.
