Vendors Sought for Downtown Albany Food Truck Event


ALBANY>> The Downtown Albany Business Improvement District (BID) announces a call for food truck vendors to participate in their “Fork in the Road” event. In conjunction with 1st Friday Albany, “Fork in the Road” will take place at Tricentennial Park (Broadway and Columbia Street) in downtown Albany from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PMon May 1June 5August 7September 4, and October 2, 2015. The vendor application is available online at downtownalbany.org.

The event was developed to attract Downtown residents, employees, and visitors, in line with the goals of the monthly arts and culture event 1st Friday Albany. During the family-friendly “Fork in the Road”, Tricentennial Park will become host to evenings with unique food and music against the backdrop of Downtown’s history and architecture.

“’Fork in the Road’ affords the amalgamation of District residents, employees, and visitors the opportunity to embrace Downtown in a new, fun way. Folks can relax in Tricentennial Park with their food, or make it a full evening with a stop in neighboring Albany Center Gallery and other 1st Friday Albany participants, and a drink at one of our many Downtown pubs,” says Georgette Steffens, executive director of theDowntown Albany BID. “With 20,000 Downtown employees and a growing residential population, events like these work to inspire engagement with our District and all it offers.”

Limited space is available. For early registration rates, applications must be received by April 23, 2015; application deadline is April 27, 2015. Restaurants within the BID footprint are invited to participate at Fork in the Road by setting up a table at the event.
