Celebrating the Light: Local businesses light up their windows in preparation for the Victorian Stroll

TROY>> In preparation for the 32nd annual Troy Victorian Stroll, 19 downtown Troy businesses have installed elaborate window designs under the theme ‘Celebrate The Light.’ On Tuesday, Dec. 2 at 5:30 PM, judges will meet at The Arts Center of the Capital Region (265 River St.) before they tour the district.

Judges are Joseph Mastroianni, Assistant Director of Education at The Arts Center; Jason Gough, News Channel 13 meteorologist; and Erin Pihlaja, executive director of the Downtown Troy BID.

The contest’s three categories are: Best in Show, Best Use of Theme, and People’s Choice. Pictures of each window will be posted on The Rensselaer County Chamber of Commerce’s event website (http://www.victorianstroll.com/) for public vote. All winners will be announced at 5 PM on Friday, Dec. 5.

The Victorian Stroll brings an estimated 20,000 visitors to the city of Troy. This year’s event will take place on Sunday, Dec. 7 from 11 AM to 5 PM.
